In contractual agreement with the Mine Safety and Health Administration(MSHA) and the United States Department of Labor, the University of Nebraska at Kearney, Nebraska Safety Center provides training, consultation, and safety services to over 200 mines and in Nebraska. Contractors and customers of these mines are also served. Classes offered include:
Mining in Nebraska
Contractor personnel are required to have training if they are engaged in mining operations, including developing, drilling, blasting, extracting, milling, crushing, screening or sizing materials, or hauling materials within the mine. Others needing training are maintenance personnel, service workers, or construction workers, working on mine equipment for frequent or extended periods.
